New Trailer Hitch Is Better For Racers
Beech Island, SC – A small company in South Carolina has proved to be a big help to small race teams. Team crews have complained for years about having to re-set the car’s suspension system after towing the car from the team’s garage or practice track to the race. The team mechanic would have to virtually set the car up all over again because the suspension was knocked out after being towed to the track. The Drag Racing Cars have even more problems because of the lack of suspension underneath the car. Racers have even tried rubber mats under the Dragster to try and eliminate the problem of bounce. This problem occurs because of the bounce and jerk of the trailer when pulling. Even after some teams put air bags under the trailer and tow-vehicle, the problem still occurs because the trailer and tow-vehicle are locked together with metal against metal.
South East Easy Rider, Inc. has helped prevent this problem by introducing the first improvement in towing technology in over 50 years. The Easy Rider™ Air Ride Trailer Hitch integrates Air Ride Technology into the hitching process allowing both the tow-vehicle and the trailer to act as separate entities, thereby reducing tire bounce, vibration, jerk and sway when towing. The inclusion of GoodYear™ Air Bags and heavy-duty Cam-Following Bearings is what made this technology possible.
Air bags and racing are not foreign to each other. The versatility of Air Springs or Air Shocks was proven during the early years of stock car racing. Racers used Air Springs for suspension to try and make the car hold the track better in the turns. Racers eventually advanced their technology to other forms of suspension but still use air springs or air shocks in some form today.
Craig Kaplenski, President, South East Easy Rider, Inc. said, "We know this problem exists. Our hitch reduces the tire bounce of the trailer so drastically, that the trailer and its contents are under less stress, thereby eliminating damage to the trailer, its contents or the truck itself."
The Easy Rider™ Air Ride Trailer Hitch is constructed with jig-welded steel, GoodYear™ Heavy Duty Air Bags and heavy-duty. Cam-Following Bearings. The construction is inspected by an ASME (American Society of Metallurgists and Engineers) certified welder and is tested for strength and stability to hold up under the worst conditions.
These Air Ride Trailer hitches separate the trailer and tow-vehicle making them ride as independent vehicles. This in turn gives the trailer the ability to move on its natural axis, making it safer to pull. This technology has been proven to put less stress on the trailer frame, which reduces the amount of wear and tear on the trailer, its furnishings and its contents, whether animals or objects.
The Air Ride system is available for almost any type of towing situation. The Easy Rider™ product line includes hitches for receiver standard ball hitch, pintle hitch or weight distribution hitch in the "Class 4 " weight class. The SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) American Standards 1648 and VESC Regulations V-5 and Canadian Standard D264 have tested this hitch for a Class 4 rating (1,000 pounds Tongue Weight and 10,000 pounds Gross Trailer Weight). The Easy Rider™ Air Ride Gooseneck Hitch is built to withstand 6,000 pounds Tongue Weight and 24,000 pounds Gross Trailer Weight, and the Easy Rider™ 5th Wheel Hitch is built to handle 3,750 pounds Tongue Weight and 15,000 pounds Gross Trailer Weight.
The Easy Rider™ Air Ride Trailer Hitch is available direct from the manufacturer or from their many dealers and distributors located throughout the United States and Canada. "South East Easy Rider, Inc. is still looking to become a total manufacturing facility and get out of the direct marketing side of the business," says Mr. Kaplenski. " That will free me to focus more on the quality control aspect of the manufacturing and streamline the process to lower the price for the customer."
