Peak Performance Day

	Andy Williams looked to be having fun with a succession of low eight-second passes before starting to dial-in the throttle stop for next week's Super Comp eliminations.		Carl Atkinson made several passes on his 9.50 Bike with a best of 9.799.
	Dave Evans made a welcome return in the Coco Connection and ran into the nines.		Craig Evett was the lucky lad in the Santa Pod Junior Dragster.
	Craig Gibbs was testing a new pair of Mickey Thompson slicks on the Super Mod Camaro and netted a best of 8.065.		Dave Bailey continued testing the new nitrous set up, but a trashed gearbox on the second run forced an early end to his day.
	Dave Burfitt ran a Personal Best of 9.465 on his 9.50 Bike.		Frank Bennett made one pass late today, a strong-looking half pass by the blown altered.
	Freddy Fagerström has no datalogger this weekend, but after a 6.346 and then this blast who needs a computer!		Graham Allen made his first transbrake launch today and the Maverick obliged with a wheels-up launch.
	John Parkinson was in good hands with FIA Top Methanol Dragster champion Dave Wilson overseeing his licensing passes.		John Tebenham had the Ford Probe running as well as we can remember, running an 8.172 with an early 'chute.
	Jörgen Karlsson suffered a serious fire at the finish line. Jörgen was taken to hospital but is OK: the car is very badly damaged.		Kim Bishop's old-style Gasser is a regular Test Day runner at Santa Pod.
	Martin Moore brought out the Rover-powered Chevette after a long layoff.		Mike Lacey had the Pro ET Camaro launching wheels-up and ran within a hundredth of his personal best.
	Nick Griffin ran a number of low eleven-second passes.		Paul Spiers is signed up to give passenger rides to journalists at Wednesday's Press Day.
	Paula Atkin was another testing after a long layoff. The new paintjob looks superb and the launch was strong.		It could only happen at a test day! Phil Pratt on his 9.50 Bike chases after Dave Bailey on his Pro Mod machine. Phil got there first after Dave broke.
	Ray Comer takes his Webster Race Engineering-built Street Eliminator Camaro for a leisurely Saturday afternoon drive.		Robert Koper's European Finals came to an early end when a flash of flame just past half-track signalled serious engine damage.
	Roger Johansson seemed to be working on the tune-up for the first eighth, a 7.007 half-pass his best run.		After Roland Chaplain rode the Comp Bike into the 8.30s last weekend it was Sandra's turn for some seat time to prepare for next weekend.
	Steve Johnson ran pair of 7.40s in the Motor Mouse before problems with the throttle assembly reared their ugly head.		This innocent-looking Subaru turned a lot of heads with a 9.8-second run.
