More pictures from yesterday as not a wheel turned today. Congratulations to Jon Giles who has gained his race licence and so will be contesting Super Gas this weekend.

Antony Wilkins' Pro ET pick-up was getting all twisty on launch and wandered about its lane a bit in the stuff crosswind.

Pro ET racer Neil Hunter blasted his Personal Best in qualifying, into the nines and making it look easy.

Sportsman ET racer Nick Gay has his own radio programme and takes every opportunity to plug drag racing.

Malcolm Francis had a bit of a moment when his throttle stop released on the cold track during Super Gas qualifying but he had it covered.

Brendan Clancy wanted to show an appreciative start line crew every angle of his new car.

Jeff Meads' B&H Automotive Street Eliminator Pop was remarkably stable on a cold track with a strong crosswind.

Mark Richardson runs the Pony Express in the Wild Bunch.

Dave Cherrett holds the lead in Super Street.

Mats Eriksson's rear tyres spun at the hit in the Pro Mod test and tune session.

Steve Wells fogging the start line in Super Comp qualifying.

Whilst some racers had problems sticking to the track, Steve Green's Cortina shot off the line as if it had been fired from a gun during Super Pro ET qualifying.

Steve Nash has started how he means to go on to defend his Street Eliminator title, taking #1 spot with an 8.1 which was astounding for the conditions.

Whilst Carla Pittau and crew member Jemma went home to get another transmission for Heaven and Hell As Well, Rick McCann amused himself with huge wheelies and #1 spot after the first Pro ET qualifying session.

Another one of our Swedish visitors, Ludvig Perés featured in the Junior Dragster top five after the second qualifyign session.

Steve Hudson made his first competitive passes during Pro ET qualifying.

Ed Yates' very smart slingshot dragster is second in Wild Bunch qualifying...

...Chris Hartnell took the Wild Bunch lead in the last session of the day.

It was getting plenty dark by the time Jayne Kay made her third Junior Dragster qualifying pass of the day.

You can clearly see why nothing happened today.

Back to Thursday now and Simon Rowland and the Formula Tanker Rental team hired the track for a private test. Simon was testing his newly-acquired Super Pro ET rail.

Under the gaze of the car's former owner Nick Spence, Simon got into the 8.1s within three passes.

Also testing during Thursday's private test was this Comp Bike racer whose name we didn't catch (sorry).

This is the view from Nitro FM's new studio. I am guessing that they will discover friends they never knew they had as soon as Top Fuel appears.
